Brand specifications

The shoe at a glance.

The PUMA Fast-R NITRO Elite 3 is a dedicated road racer that pairs NITROFOAM Elite with an extended carbon plate for distances from shorter races to the marathon. Its construction gives it a clear place in a rotation focused on racing rather than routine daily mileage. Very limited stability and fragile materials are significant compromises, especially if you need support or expect frequent everyday use. Regular width is verified, but detailed sizing impressions are not recorded here, so assess both fit and control before racing in it.

Pros and cons

Pros

Very strong rebound from the foam.
Low weight compared with the previous version.
Cushioning supports both short and longer races.

Cons

The platform is extremely unstable.
Durability is limited, especially for frequent training.

Cushioning and ride

Published testing describes an aggressive, fast racing tool. Its unusual platform is particularly demanding for heel landings, making a race-pace trial more useful than judging it while standing.
